Research Topic: The effect of different adaptive system descriptions on subjective expecatation and task performance

Student research assistant Qian Jiahui and principal investigator Chee-Seng Tan, from Wenzhou-Kean Univeristy invite you to participate in his / her research project. In order to be able to decide whether or not you want to participate in this project, you should understand what this project is about and the possible risks and benefits. This process is called informed consent. It describes the purpose, process, potential benefits and risks of the research. It also explains how your personal information will be used and protected. After you have read it, you will be asked to sign the consent box at the end of the form. This will signify your consent to participate in this study.

Research Aim and Process

With the advancement of artificial intelligence, intelligent systems are increasingly integrated into human-computer interaction. Understanding user performance in smart environments is crucial for optimizing technology design. This project explores the effect of different adaptive system on subjective expectation and task performance. You should complete a total of 40 items of Chinese compound remote associates task and a 1 item expectation questionnaire. The associates tasks are presented in Chinese. Questionaires are presented in dual languages (both Chinese and English version). If you are confused with Chinese version, you can refer to the English version.
随着人工智能的进步，智能系统越来越多地融入人机互动中。了解智能环境中用户的表现对于优化技术设计至关重要。本项目探讨了不同适应系统对主观期望和任务表现的影响。您需要完成四十个中文复合远距离联想任务任务及一道题目的期望问卷。联想任务内容将以中文形式展现，其余量表均以双语（中文和英文版本）呈现。如果您对中文版本感到困惑，您可以参考英文版本。
Potential Risks

Participation in this study is completely voluntary. You can choose to stop at any time and there will be no negative consequences. Additionally, the risks and discomforts of participation will be no greater than those normally encountered in daily life. Hence, there is no risk for you is foreseen.

Confidentiality

All data analysis will be used for research purposes only, and only researchers associated with this study, such as Principal Investigator (PI) and student research assistant, will have access to the data. By participating in the study, you agree that your data may be used for these purposes. Your privacy and confidentiality will be protected at all times. All data will be kept on a secure server and on the researcher's encrypted computer for at least 5 years after all relevant research results have been published.
